Stripped Paraiba
Stripped Paraiba (#099EC0) is a true cyan with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Quiet and dependable, a fit for product UI and data visualization. Its HSL profile (191°, 91%, 39%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English stripian, to strip — past-participle of strip. As a color modifier, stripped implies a clear-and-bared-and-unornamented quality, the crisp color of Cistercian-and-Bauhaus anti-ornamental stripped-down architectural interior. The intensely-blue copper-bearing variety of tourmaline — discovered in 1989 in the Brazilian state of Paraíba. Paraiba tourmaline is one of the most expensive gem materials by weight. The color refers to a faceted Paraiba tourmaline: a saturated, slightly cool electric blue-green with the gem's signature internal fire.
