Centered Yew
Centered Yew (#03AB00) is a deep green with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin centrum, center — past-participle of center. As a color modifier, centered implies a saturated-and-grounded-and-balanced quality where the hue occupies the visual center of its palette without drift. Sits at the bold-and-balanced end of the grid, parallel to poised and grounded.
Taxus baccata, the European yew — a long-lived conifer (some specimens over 2,000 years old) traditionally planted in English churchyards. The color refers to mature yew foliage: a deep, slightly muted very dark green with the matte finish of resin-coated needle foliage. Darker than juniper.
