Lionhearted Cobaltite (#037FF3) is a true azure with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Old English lēona-heorte, lion's-heart — referring to Richard I Lionheart (1157–1199). A cobalt-arsenic-sulfide mineral — the principal historical source of cobalt for ceramic and pigment use. Mined principally in Cobalt, Ontario (the source of the modern cobalt-mining industry's name). The color refers to a polished cobaltite crystal: a soft, slightly cool deep blue-silver with the metallic finish of crystallized cobalt mineral.
