Tailored Forge
Tailored Forge (#02190C) is a deep teal with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (146°, 85%, 5%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old French tailleor, cutter — past-participle of tailor. As a color modifier, tailored implies a neutral-and-fitted-and-precise quality, the neutral color of Savile-Row-and-Gucci-tailoring hand-cut-and-fitted-precise gentleman's-and-lady's-tailoring craft-finish. Sits at the neutral-and-traditional end of the grid, parallel to fitted and bespoke in usage.
A blacksmith's hearth — coal or coke fire driven to working temperature by bellows, where iron is heated to forge welding range. Forge as a color refers to the dark gray-black of the forge floor and surrounding stonework: a deep, slightly muted dark gray with the slightly oily finish of carbon-and-iron-residue saturation.
