Sparking Spa
Sparking Spa (#01E6AC) is a true teal with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Old English spearca, spark — present-participle of spark. As a color modifier, sparking implies a saturated-and-electrical-emission quality, the bright color of welding-arc-and-Tesla-coil high-voltage spark-discharge emission. Sits at the bright-and-electric end of the grid, parallel to flashing and coruscating in usage.
A mineral-spring resort — named for the Belgian town of Spa whose iron-rich springs have drawn visitors since the sixteenth century. Spa color refers to a thermal spring pool at Saturnia in Tuscany: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the optical complexity of mineral-saturated water.
