Settled Sodalite
Settled Sodalite (#018A9E) is a deep cyan with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (188°, 99%, 31%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. The past participle of settle, to come to rest — used as a color modifier since the seventeenth century for hues that read as stabilized after a process. Settled green, settled brown: moderate saturation combined with optical permanence. Sits at the crisp-bucket alongside steady and composed.
A sodium-aluminum silicate mineral — saturated blue, mined principally in Brazil, Russia, and Greenland. Sodalite is one of the four lazurite-group blue minerals (with lazurite, hauyne, and nosean). The color refers to a polished Brazilian sodalite cabochon: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the matte finish of opaque silicate.
