Forthright Paraiba
Forthright Paraiba (#0186C1) is a true cyan with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (198°, 99%, 38%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Old English forð-riht, straight ahead, direct. Used as a color modifier in Anglo-Saxon-revival contexts for hues that read as honest and unguarded. The intensely-blue copper-bearing variety of tourmaline — discovered in 1989 in the Brazilian state of Paraíba. Paraiba tourmaline is one of the most expensive gem materials by weight. The color refers to a faceted Paraiba tourmaline: a saturated, slightly cool electric blue-green with the gem's signature internal fire.
