Handmade Cassiterite

#010a25
Notes

Handmade Cassiterite (#010A25) is a deep blue with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (225°, 95%, 7%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary amber. For something softer, pull in its analogous neighbors on either side of the wheel.

Cassiterite
noun

SnO₂ tin-dioxide mineral — the principal ore of tin metal, mined since the Bronze Age at Cornwall in England and Banka in Indonesia. Cassiterite color refers to a freshly cleaved Cornish stannite tetragonal-prism crystal face: a saturated, slightly cool deep black with the adamantine finish of tetragonal-system tin-dioxide. The Greek genus name kassíteros (tin) gives Latin and English cassiterite.
