Alit Trogon
Alit Trogon (#FDA4F7) is a soft violet with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (304°, 96%, 82%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Old English ā-lihtan, to alight — past-participle of alight. As a color modifier, alit implies a saturated-and-just-illuminated quality, the bright color of evening-streetlamp and Christmas-tree-light freshly-switched-on emission. Sits at the bright-and-warm end of the grid, parallel to aflame and aglow in usage.
Central- and South-American Trogon family — particularly the violaceous trogon (Trogon violaceus) of Amazonian-rainforest canopies, whose breeding-plumage males have iridescent deep-violet head-and-breast plumage. Trogon color refers to a Trogon violaceus male's breast feather field: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the iridescent satin finish of structurally colored feather barbs over melanin substrate.
