Effulgent Jericho
Effulgent Jericho (#FAABFA) is a soft violet with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (300°, 89%, 83%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin effulgēns, shining-out — present-participle of effulgere, sharing root with fulgor (lightning). As a color modifier, effulgent implies a saturated-and-radiating-light-out quality, the bright color of Renaissance-Madonna halo-and-aureole gold-leaf-and-pigment emission. Sits at the bright-and-saturated end of the grid, parallel to resplendent and radiant in usage.

Jericho color refers to a Jericho-produced Tyrian-purple-dyed talith prayer shawl: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the matte finish of multi-bath Murex shellfish dye on Levantine wool. Slightly warmer than Tyre itself.
