Sparking Pezzottaite
Sparking Pezzottaite (#F796DF) is a soft magenta with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (315°, 86%, 78%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Old English spearca, spark — present-participle of spark. As a color modifier, sparking implies a saturated-and-electrical-emission quality, the bright color of welding-arc-and-Tesla-coil high-voltage spark-discharge emission. Sits at the bright-and-electric end of the grid, parallel to flashing and coruscating in usage.
Rare cesium-bearing variety of beryl, first described from the Sakavalana mine of Madagascar in 2002. The mineral's characteristic deep-raspberry-pink color comes from manganese substitution. Pezzottaite color refers to a faceted Sakavalana pezzottaite gemstone: a saturated, slightly cool deep magenta with the glassy finish of manganese-substituted cyclosilicate. Named for Federico Pezzotta, the Italian mineralogist who first described it.
