Lined Veronese
Lined Veronese (#F699AB) is a soft red with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (348°, 84%, 78%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Old English līne, line / cord — past-participle of line. As a color modifier, lined implies a clear-and-coordinated-and-supported quality where the hue carries the visual register of carefully-lined-and-supported textile-or-print surface. Sits at the crisp-and-finished end of the grid, parallel to trim and coordinated in usage.
Paolo Veronese, the Venetian Renaissance painter (1528–1588) whose deep saturated reds and warm flesh tones defined Venetian-school color. Veronese red refers to the dominant red in The Marriage at Cana: a saturated, slightly cool deep red with the matte finish of pigment-in-oil over Venetian gesso. Deeper than crimson, warmer than burgundy.
