Hemmed Sidon
Hemmed Sidon (#F5ADEE) is a soft violet with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (306°, 78%, 82%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English hem, border — past-participle of hem. Sidon color refers to a Sidon-produced Tyrian purple-dyed Phoenician trade textile: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the matte finish of multi-bath Hexaplex trunculus shellfish dye on hand-loomed Levantine cloth.
