Greek néon, new — element-name (atomic-number 10), discovered by William Ramsay in 1898. A pale, peachy red that sits between coral and apricot, warmer than rose and lighter than vermillion. In farmed salmon the color is added to the feed; in wild salmon, it's diet alone.
