Loud Bixbite
Loud Bixbite (#F1515B) is a true red with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Its HSL profile (356°, 85%, 63%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English hlūd, making noise — borrowed metaphorically as a color word since the nineteenth century. An extremely rare red variety of beryl — found principally in the Wah Wah Mountains of Utah and the Thomas Range. Often called red emerald in the trade. The color refers to a faceted bixbite: a saturated, slightly cool deep red with the gem's signature internal life. Cooler than ruby, deeper than spinel.
