Hardy Annatto
Hardy Annatto (#EB4930) is a true red with a vibrant character. It holds its own as a focal accent, carrying visual weight without tipping into neon territory. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Old French hardi, bold / brave — past-participle of hardir (to make brave). As a color modifier, hardy implies a saturated-and-cold-resistant quality, the deep-rich color of Scandinavian-and-Russian boreal-forest-and-tundra outdoor-clothing. Bixa orellana, the tropical shrub whose seeds yield a red-orange dye used as food coloring (in cheese, butter, and margarine) and as body paint by the Caribbean and Central American indigenous peoples.
