Gladiatorial Persimmon (#E5540C) is a true orange with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Latin gladiātōrius, of the gladiator — adjectival suffix, derived from gladius (short-sword). Diospyros kaki, the East Asian persimmon — a fruit eaten ripe from the tree in Japan since at least the eighth century, where its color is named kaki-iro.
