Engraved Madrone
Engraved Madrone (#DAFEDA) is a soft green with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old French engraver, to dig in — past-participle of engrave. Arbutus menziesii, the Pacific madrone — a Pacific Northwest broadleaf evergreen with distinctive peeling orange bark and saturated green leaves. The color refers to mature madrone foliage in California oak woodland: a saturated, slightly cool deep green with the glossy finish of waxy cuticle. Cooler than redwood.
