Holographic Edomurasaki
Holographic Edomurasaki (#C17DF5) is a soft indigo with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Quiet and dependable, a fit for product UI and data visualization. Its HSL profile (274°, 86%, 73%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Greek hólos (whole) and graphé (writing) — adjectival suffix -ic. As a color modifier, holographic implies a saturated-and-multi-angle-shifting quality, the bright color of holographic-credit-card and trading-card dichroic-film 3D-image-reflection. Edo-period purple (江戸紫) — the deep blue-tinted purple popularized by Edo-period (1603–1867) Tokyo townsfolk and kabuki actors, distinguished from the warmer Kyoto kyō-murasaki. Edomurasaki color refers to a kabuki actor's Sukeroku role costume: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the silk luster of multi-bath gromwell-root dye on lined silk crepe.
