Hardy Persimmon (#B33A0B) is a true orange with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Old French hardi, bold / brave — past-participle of hardir (to make brave). Diospyros kaki, the East Asian persimmon — a fruit eaten ripe from the tree in Japan since at least the eighth century, where its color is named kaki-iro. The fall color of the unblemished astringent fruit: a dense, slightly red orange with the velvet finish of a wax-skinned Hachiya.
