Spangled Congo
Spangled Congo (#ADF19D) is a soft green with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Middle Dutch spange, clasp / metal-disc — past-participle of spangle. As a color modifier, spangled implies a saturated-and-multi-point-reflective quality, the bright color of American-flag-stars and sequined-fabric metallic-disc-and-jewel-decoration. Sits at the bright-and-reflective end of the grid, parallel to glittering and sequined in usage.

Congo refers to a Congo Basin canopy in the wet season: a saturated, slightly cool deep green with the matte finish of equatorial-rainforest foliage.
