Forthright Veronese (#A8351C) is a true red with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Etymology
Old English forð-riht, straight ahead, direct. Used as a color modifier in Anglo-Saxon-revival contexts for hues that read as honest and unguarded. Paolo Veronese, the Venetian Renaissance painter (1528–1588) whose deep saturated reds and warm flesh tones defined Venetian-school color. Veronese red refers to the dominant red in The Marriage at Cana: a saturated, slightly cool deep red with the matte finish of pigment-in-oil over Venetian gesso.
