Old English lēona-heorte, lion's-heart — referring to Richard I Lionheart (1157–1199). Sits at the bold-and-chivalrous end of the grid, parallel to valiant and heroic.
Bixa orellana, the tropical shrub whose seeds yield a red-orange dye used as food coloring (in cheese, butter, and margarine) and as body paint by the Caribbean and Central American indigenous peoples.
