Holographic Erodium
Holographic Erodium (#A571FA) is a soft indigo with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Quiet and dependable, a fit for product UI and data visualization. Its HSL profile (263°, 93%, 71%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Greek hólos (whole) and graphé (writing) — adjectival suffix -ic. Eurasian storksbill (Erodium cicutarium) — a Geraniaceae annual with deep-violet five-petaled cup-flowers and the long-pointed seed-pod shaped like a stork's bill. Erodium color refers to a fully bloomed Erodium cicutarium cup-flower: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the velvet finish of fresh small five-petaled cup-corollas. The genus name comes from the Greek erōdios (heron), after the seed-pod shape.
