Commanding Russet
Commanding Russet (#A0360A) is a deep orange with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (18°, 88%, 33%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. From the Old French rousset, reddish-brown. A medieval term for the coarse, undyed wool of peasant cloth — the natural red-brown of the local fleece.
