Truthful Sunstone
Truthful Sunstone (#964904) is a deep orange with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (28°, 95%, 30%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English trēowth, truth — adjectival suffix -ful. As a color modifier, truthful implies a clear-and-honest-and-direct quality where the hue carries the visual register of accurate-and-faithful-representation declaration. A feldspar variety with copper-mineral inclusions that scatter light into a flickering orange-red sheen. Mined principally in Oregon (the only US state with sunstone as official gem) and Norway. The color refers to a polished Oregon sunstone cabochon: a saturated, slightly red orange with the optical complexity of light scattering off internal copper plates. Warmer than citrine.
