Old English eornost, seriousness, zeal. Ametrine color refers to the deep-violet amethyst zone of a polished Anahí-mine ametrine cabochon: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the glassy finish of iron-and-aluminum-substituted quartz under reflected light.
