Confident Tigerlily
Confident Tigerlily (#882D07) is a deep orange with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (18°, 90%, 28%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Etymology
A late-Latin participle, confidens, trusting — borrowed into English in the sixteenth century. As a color modifier, confident implies saturation combined with poise: a confident red doesn't try too hard, just sits at the level of its hue without overreaching. Lilium lancifolium, the East Asian lily named for the dark-spotted orange petals that suggested big-cat markings to Victorian gardeners.
