Pure Charoite
Pure Charoite (#7D59EF) is a true indigo with a vibrant character. It holds its own as a focal accent, carrying visual weight without tipping into neon territory. Its HSL profile (254°, 82%, 64%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Latin purus, clean, unmixed — applied to color since antiquity for hues that contain only one pigment without dilution by white, black, or another color. Pure red is the textbook ideal: high saturation, mid lightness, no shift. Sits at the bold-bucket center, parallel to true and strong.
Russian violet-banded mineral mined exclusively along the Chara River in Yakutia, eastern Siberia, since the 1940s. Charoite color refers to a polished Yakutian charoite cabochon: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-violet with the silky chatoyant finish of fibrous strontium-potassium-calcium silicate. The only deep-violet mineral mined commercially in Russia, valued for its complex banded patterning.
