Alit Glas

Old English ā-lihtan, to alight — past-participle of alight. The Welsh word for green — though historically Welsh glas spans the green-blue spectrum, including the gray of stormy seas and slate. Glas Cymru (Welsh-green) refers to the saturated green of Welsh hillsides in spring. The color refers to a Welsh hill in May: a saturated, slightly cool yellow-green with the matte finish of fresh grass.
