Manic Isle Peridot

Greek manikós, raving / mad — sharing root with mania. As a color modifier, manic implies a saturated-and-overstimulated-and-extreme quality, the bright color of Andy-Warhol-and-Pop-Art late-Pop-Art repeated-and-multiplied portrait color schemes. Old French isle via Latin insula, island. As a color modifier, isle implies a small-and-self-contained quality, the visual register of Hebridean-and-Aegean small-island remote-and-windswept fishing-and-crofting hand-built community surfaces against the encircling sea.
