Effulgent Arugula
Effulgent Arugula (#6AAB00) is a deep lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (83°, 100%, 34%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin effulgēns, shining-out — present-participle of effulgere, sharing root with fulgor (lightning). As a color modifier, effulgent implies a saturated-and-radiating-light-out quality, the bright color of Renaissance-Madonna halo-and-aureole gold-leaf-and-pigment emission. Sits at the bright-and-saturated end of the grid, parallel to resplendent and radiant in usage.
Eruca vesicaria, the Mediterranean mustard-family green — peppery and bitter, eaten as rocket in British English and rucola in Italian. Arugula color refers to fresh wild arugula leaves: a saturated, slightly muted deep yellow-green with the matte finish of small notched leaves.
