Iridescent Sprout
Iridescent Sprout (#50AC00) is a deep lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (92°, 100%, 34%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin Īris, rainbow — adjectival suffix -escent, named for the Greek goddess of the rainbow. As a color modifier, iridescent implies a saturated-and-multi-spectrum-shifting quality, the bright color of peacock-feather-and-soap-bubble structurally-colored-and-thin-film optical-interference patterns. A sprout is a newly emerged seedling — the first vascular leaves above the cotyledons, when chlorophyll is just developing. The color refers to a tray of pea or alfalfa sprouts: a soft, slightly yellow-shifted green with the optical translucency of cells full of water. Lighter than apple, cooler than wheat, with the optimism of growth visible over a single day.
