Composed Outremer
Composed Outremer (#415ADA) is a true blue with a vibrant character. It holds its own as a focal accent, carrying visual weight without tipping into neon territory. Its HSL profile (230°, 67%, 55%) places it in the balanced band at a mid lightness. It works across type, buttons, and borders, saturated enough to feel deliberate but balanced enough to not fight the rest of the palette. Etymology
The past participle of compose, to arrange together — used as a color modifier for hues that read as deliberate and balanced. The French word for ultramarine — literally beyond-the-sea, naming the lapis-lazuli pigment imported from Afghanistan via Mediterranean trade routes. The color refers to a freshly mixed outremer pigment in oil: a saturated, slightly violet-shifted deep blue.
