Gallant Hepatica (#396CFA) is a true azure with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Old French galant, brave / charming — present-participle of galer (to make merry). The genus Hepatica — liverwort flower, European-and-North-American spring-blooming perennials with saturated deep-blue flowers among the earliest to bloom in temperate forests. The color refers to a fresh H. nobilis in March: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the satin finish of six-tepaled spring flower.
