Alit Phuket
Alit Phuket (#38EFBA) is a true teal with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Old English ā-lihtan, to alight — past-participle of alight. As a color modifier, alit implies a saturated-and-just-illuminated quality, the bright color of evening-streetlamp and Christmas-tree-light freshly-switched-on emission. Sits at the bright-and-warm end of the grid, parallel to aflame and aglow in usage.
The Thai island in the Andaman Sea — and the saturated turquoise of Phuket's western beach water at Patong and Karon. Phuket refers to the beach water at midday: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the optical clarity of warm tropical-Asian water.
