Lionhearted Uguisu
Lionhearted Uguisu (#337601) is a deep lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (94°, 98%, 23%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Old English lēona-heorte, lion's-heart — referring to Richard I Lionheart (1157–1199). As a color modifier, lionhearted implies a saturated-and-courageous-and-royal quality, the deep-rich color of Crusader-period English Plantagenet-royalty armorial bearings. Sits at the bold-and-chivalrous end of the grid, parallel to valiant and heroic.
Horornis diphone, the Japanese bush warbler — and the slightly muted olive-yellow of the bird's plumage. Uguisu-iro is a traditional Japanese color used in tea-ceremony pottery and fukusa silk wraps.
