Earnest Rush
Earnest Rush (#329C00) is a deep green with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Old English eornost, seriousness, zeal. Used as a color modifier since the nineteenth century for hues that read as committed but unshowy — the working blues of denim, the deep greens of Quaker meetinghouses. The genus Juncus — wetland sedge-family plants whose hollow green stems were used historically for rushlights (torches dipped in tallow) and traditional weaving. The color refers to a clump of fresh rushes in a damp meadow: a saturated, slightly cool deep yellow-green with the matte finish of round hollow stalks.
