Alit Azul
Alit Azul (#3299F2) is a true azure with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Etymology
Old English ā-lihtan, to alight — past-participle of alight. As a color modifier, alit implies a saturated-and-just-illuminated quality, the bright color of evening-streetlamp and Christmas-tree-light freshly-switched-on emission. Sits at the bright-and-warm end of the grid, parallel to aflame and aglow in usage.
The Spanish word for blue — used for the saturated deep blue of Andalusian azulejo tile (the same word, al-zulayj, gives Spanish ceramics their name). Azul spans the entire blue-azure range in Iberian color vocabulary. The color refers to a glazed Andalusian azulejo tile: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the high gloss of fired ceramic.
