Confident Variscite
Confident Variscite (#307B11) is a deep green with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (102°, 76%, 27%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
A late-Latin participle, confidens, trusting — borrowed into English in the sixteenth century. As a color modifier, confident implies saturation combined with poise: a confident red doesn't try too hard, just sits at the level of its hue without overreaching. Sits in the bold-bucket center near bold and resolute.
A hydrated aluminum phosphate mineral — yellow-green to blue-green in color, mined principally in Utah and Australia. Often confused with low-grade turquoise. The color refers to a polished variscite cabochon: a soft, slightly muted yellow-green with the matte finish of opaque mineral. Cooler than prehnite.
