Holographic Camas (#2C98FA) is a true azure with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Its HSL profile (209°, 95%, 58%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Greek hólos (whole) and graphé (writing) — adjectival suffix -ic. Sits at the bright-and-shifting end of the grid, parallel to iridescent and prismatic in usage.
The genus Camassia — camas lily, North American native bulbs whose deep-blue flower spikes were a staple food source for Pacific Northwest Indigenous peoples (the bulbs are cooked in pit ovens). The color refers to a C. quamash meadow at peak bloom: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the satin finish of six-petaled lily-form flower.
