Iridescent Camas
Iridescent Camas (#2AAAFE) is a true azure with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin Īris, rainbow — adjectival suffix -escent, named for the Greek goddess of the rainbow. The genus Camassia — camas lily, North American native bulbs whose deep-blue flower spikes were a staple food source for Pacific Northwest Indigenous peoples (the bulbs are cooked in pit ovens). The color refers to a C. quamash meadow at peak bloom: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the satin finish of six-petaled lily-form flower.
