Manorial Variscite
Manorial Variscite (#28AB00) is a deep green with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (106°, 100%, 34%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary violet. For something softer, pull in its analogous neighbors on either side of the wheel.
Etymology
Latin manōrium, dwelling — adjectival suffix -al, derived from manēre (to remain). As a color modifier, manorial implies a saturated-and-aristocratic-and-rural quality, the deep-rich color of pre-modern English manor-house livery-and-tapestry tradition. Sits at the bold-and-aristocratic end of the grid, parallel to lordly and patrician.
A hydrated aluminum phosphate mineral — yellow-green to blue-green in color, mined principally in Utah and Australia. Often confused with low-grade turquoise. The color refers to a polished variscite cabochon: a soft, slightly muted yellow-green with the matte finish of opaque mineral. Cooler than prehnite.
