Profound Cardamom
Profound Cardamom (#264707) is a deep lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (91°, 82%, 15%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
From the Latin profundus, deep — sharing the same root as the noun profundity. As a color modifier, profound is the literary register for deep beyond ordinary measure — used for darks that read as bottomless or inexhaustible. Sits at the dark end of the grid alongside stygian and cavernous, with slightly more dignity and slightly less menace.
Elettaria cardamomum, the South Asian and East African spice whose green pods are essential to Indian chai, Scandinavian kardemumma baking, and Arab coffee. The color refers to fresh green cardamom pods: a saturated, slightly cool yellow-green with the matte finish of dry seed pods. Cooler than fennel.
