Fluorescent Pondweed
Fluorescent Pondweed (#25ECCC) is a true teal with a vibrant character. It holds its own as a focal accent, carrying visual weight without tipping into neon territory. Its HSL profile (170°, 84%, 54%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Latin fluēre, to flow — adjectival suffix -escent. As a color modifier, fluorescent implies a saturated-and-UV-stimulated-glow quality, the bright color of fluorite-and-ZnS mineral-pigment fluorescent-lamp emission. The genus Potamogeton — submerged aquatic plants of freshwater ponds and slow streams. The color refers to a clump of fresh pondweed seen through pond water: a soft, slightly cool deep yellow-green-blue with the optical complexity of submerged leaf scattering filtered sunlight.
