Dynamic Oolong
Dynamic Oolong (#1DEFEC) is a true cyan with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Its HSL profile (179°, 87%, 53%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
From the Greek dynamis, power — used as a color modifier since the late nineteenth century for hues that read as energetic and active. Dynamic red, dynamic orange: the implication is saturation combined with optical motion. Sits at the bright-bucket center alongside vibrant and lively.
The partially-oxidized Chinese tea — qīng-chá (cyan tea) — with the deep blue-green liquor distinct from green tea (lower oxidation) and black tea (higher oxidation). The color refers to fresh-brewed Tieguanyin oolong: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the optical depth of partially-fermented tea liquor.
