Stripped Kyanite
Stripped Kyanite (#16A3A9) is a true cyan with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (182°, 77%, 37%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English stripian, to strip — past-participle of strip. As a color modifier, stripped implies a clear-and-bared-and-unornamented quality, the crisp color of Cistercian-and-Bauhaus anti-ornamental stripped-down architectural interior. An aluminum silicate mineral — named for the Greek kyanos (deep blue), the same root as cyan. Mined principally in Brazil, India, and the United States. The color refers to a polished Brazilian kyanite blade: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the satin finish of fibrous-bladed silicate.
