Composed Smalt
Composed Smalt (#166EB4) is a true azure with a vibrant character. It holds its own as a focal accent, carrying visual weight without tipping into neon territory. Its HSL profile (207°, 78%, 40%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
The past participle of compose, to arrange together — used as a color modifier for hues that read as deliberate and balanced. A cobalt-glass pigment — pulverized cobalt-tinted glass used in oil painting from the late medieval period through the eighteenth century.
