Stripped Bottomless
Stripped Bottomless (#137CAC) is a true cyan with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (199°, 80%, 37%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English stripian, to strip — past-participle of strip. As a color modifier, stripped implies a clear-and-bared-and-unornamented quality, the crisp color of Cistercian-and-Bauhaus anti-ornamental stripped-down architectural interior. Sits at the crisp-and-stripped end of the grid, parallel to spare and bare in usage.
A descriptor for water deep enough that the bottom isn't visible from above — particularly cenote sinkholes, deep ocean trenches, and Caribbean blue holes. Bottomless color refers to the Great Blue Hole of Belize seen from above: a saturated, slightly cool very deep blue with the optical depth of unfathomably deep water.
