Latin coruscāns, flashing — present-participle of coruscāre. The Arabic word for green — used for the deep green of the Khidr (the Green One) in Islamic mysticism, the green domes of mosques, and the Jabal al-Akhdar (Green Mountain) of Oman. The color refers to a Saudi mosque-dome glaze: a saturated, slightly cool deep green with the high gloss of fired ceramic glaze.
